Residential Section

J. N. Petit Technical High School, one of the oldest heritage institutions, was founded in 1888 by Late Nusserwanjee Maneckjee Petit in Lalbaug, Mumbai, in loving memory of his son, Late Jamshedjee Nusserwanjee Petit.

The school was established with a clear purpose — to provide quality education and holistic care to underprivileged and orphaned Zoroastrian boys. In 1948, it was relocated to Bund Garden, Pune, where it continues to carry forward its legacy.

A unique feature of the school is its Residential Section, exclusively for Zoroastrian boys. The focus here goes beyond academics, ensuring the overall development of every child through sports, co-curricular activities, and personality development. Students actively participate and excel in sports such as football, basketball, cricket, and athletics, including the prestigious All Parsees Athletic Championships in Mumbai.

The school also places strong emphasis on values and cultural grounding. Students attend regular religious classes under the guidance of Ervad Minoo M. Karkaria, helping them imbibe important life principles and traditions.

The residential facility is thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment. It includes well-equipped dormitories, a computer lab, an entertainment room, an infirmary, and dedicated study support through evening tutors. Facilities are regularly upgraded to ensure the well-being and safety of all students.

Nutritious and hygienic meals are provided through an in-house kitchen, and comprehensive healthcare support is ensured through a tie-up with Ruby Hall Clinic.

In addition to regular schooling, students benefit from academic support through both offline and online platforms, along with exposure through educational and recreational trips.

At its core, the school is guided by the timeless teachings of Zoroaster — Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. With a strong focus on self-discipline, dignity of labour, and character building, the institution strives to nurture responsible and well-rounded individuals.
